Georgia's future governor was back at it again in November to test the limits of his mental toughness for a 24-hour marathon around the capitol building in Atlanta, Georgia - all in honor of the Sua Sponte Foundation. After completing a daunting 24-hour marathon, Ken drove back to Savannah and handed over an $800 check to the military-related nonprofit. The Sua Sponte Foundation supports the needs of Army Rangers and their families at the 1st Ranger Battalion in Savannah, Georgia. Kens passion for the nonprofit stems from his service with the Army Rangers before going national guard. Ken is no stranger to working hard. He's dedicated to his campaign and making it clear to the community that when he is elected he will serve as an honest, people-oriented politician. The American Legion Dexter Allen Post 90 invited Ken Yasger to be their keynote speaker for their 2023 Veterans Day event in Statesboro, Georgia. Post Commander Gary Martin told the Statesboro Herald, "He is really about helping the veterans, you know, disabled veterans, homeless veterans, veterans whose families need something," Martin said. "He's very much focused on veterans' rights and veterans' needs, and for that reason I thought he would be an outstanding speaker on Veterans Day." Yasger was elated to have been invited as the keynote speaker and felt that his speech would focus on the importance of appreciating veterans - not to draw attention to his own service, but for the sake of restoring unity within the country. Another fundraiser event is in the books for Georgia's next governor, Ken Yasger! In October 2023 Ken completed the well-known David Goggins challenge at Forsyth Park in Savannah, Georgia. He ran 4 miles every 4 hours for 48 hours, with the intent of donating half of his proceeds to It's a Military Life's Veteran Pen Pal Project. Veteran Pen Pal Project is a program under the nonprofit It's a Military Life. Their mission is to improve mental health within the military community, a subject that Ken is also very passionate about. The Veteran Pen Pal Project connects members of the military community (spouses, veterans, and current service members) with civilians that have similar interests. If you a member of the military community that is interested in joining the Veteran Pen Pal Project you can sign up using this form. Members of the civilian community can apply to be a pen pal through this form. There are no requirements for how often you have to write your pen pal, but the purpose of the program is develop long-lasting friendships. Ken turned over a check worth $500 to a Veteran Pen Pal Project ambassador.
